More history in the making, Patriot Fans!! Never before has Powdersville High School sent eight young men to the State Track Meet in Columbia with the target on their back known as “#1 Seed”. Wow! Boys 4×800 and Boys 4×400 Relay teams both finished the state qualifier with the best across all teams in AAA, upper and lower state. Will they bring home the gold?
Powdersville’s Boys 4×800 team of Brendan McManamon, Noah Brock, Josh Moore, Cameron Matthews were all members of last fall’s AAA State Championship Cross Country team. They lowered the school record for the 4×800 relay multiple times during the 2017 season. Their race is scheduled for 5:30 pm Friday, May 12, the first AAA Boys running event of the State Meet.
Powdersville’s Boys 4×400 team of Kyle Booth, Allen Hill, Jordan Meekins, and Micah Schultz are within three seconds of PVHS’ school record in the 4×400 relay which was set in 2015 at the AA State Championships. Their race is scheduled for 12:45pm Saturday, May 13, the final AAA Boys event of the meet.
Between these two relays, Powdersville will also have Boys competing in the 3200M, 4x100m Relay, 1600M, 400M Hurdles, 200M, and the Pole Vault. Powdersville Girls will be competing in the 4x800m Relay and the Pole Vault.
Best wishes to all our Track and Field athletes at the State Meet this weekend! We are so proud of you for making it this far and so excited to watch you compete! #PowdersvilleStrong #GoPatriots!!
