Congratulations to the Boys Track 4x400m Relay team on bringing home gold medals with their first-place finish at the State Track Meet! The relay team set a new school record of 3:24.37 in the process! Wow! Members of the winning relay team were Kyle Booth, Micah Schultz, Allen Hill, and Jordan Meekins. Overall, Powderville Boys team finished in sixth place and set five new school records at the State Meet at Spring Valley High School Friday-Saturday, May 12-13, 2017.
Joey Schrippa was the highest individual finisher for the Patriots with a second-place finish in the Pole Vault. Brendan McManamon left his name on three school records. McManamon finished third in the 3200 M (improving the mark to 10:07.92), sixth in the 1600M (lowering this mark to 4:38.66) and anchored the 4x800m Relay.
The 4x800m Relay team (Cameron Matthews, Josh Moore, Noah Brock, and McManamon) finished fifth and set a new school record of 8:34.37. Schultz lowered the school record in the 200M to 22.64. This puts Schultz’ name on three school records as well, since he set the 400M school record at the state finals last year.
