Congratulations to rising senior Carsyn Leigh Barbary on earning the title of Distinguished Young Woman of South Carolina! Barbary, a member of Powdersville High’s Revolution Dance team, represented Anderson County at the state-wide event in Lexington on July 27-28, 2018. Distinguished Young Women of South Carolina is part of a national scholarship program that promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership and talent in young women. Distinguished Young Women compete in categories of scholastics (25%), interview (25%), talent (20%), fitness (15%), and self-expression (15%). Carsyn Leigh will serve South Carolina during for the upcoming year and compete for the national Distinguished Young Woman of America title in Mobile, Alabama, during the summer of 2019.
