Patriots News · Powdersville Middle School Football Finishes Season with 7-1 Record

Congratulations to Powdersville Middle School Football on finishing their season with a strong showing against Robert Anderson, a feeder middle school to  AAAAA Westside.  Powdersville came up short in the final period, falling 20-14 at Robert Anderson on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.

The Rams led 14-0 at the half and extended their lead to 20-0 in the third quarter. Before the period was over, Patriots’  Jalen Rambert rushed into the end zone and narrowed the margin to 20-6. In the fourth quarter Thomas Williams passed to Cooper Butler for a touchdown.  Rambert added the two-point conversion to put the score at 20-14, which is how the score remained until the final whistle.

“I have blessed as a first-year head coach to be able to work with this group of players and coaches,” commented PVMS Head Football Coach Justin Patterson.  “They are the first football team in Powdersville Middle School history to win the AOP Division 2 Championship.  These guys bought into what we wanted to accomplish, how we would go about getting there, and worked to obtain it.  I am just glad to have had the opportunity to be part of it all.”

Powdersville Middle finished the season as AOP Division 2 Champions, Anderson School District One middle school champions, and with a 7-1 overall record.  Wow!  We’ve had so much fun watching this team!  Best of luck to the players as they move on to other sports and activities. Looking forward to your future contributions to Patriot football! #MakingHistoryEverySeason! #GoPatriots!
