The Patriots hosted BHP last night in their season home opener.
Patriots striker Carson Brannon opened the scoring when he tucked away a cross inside the six yard box from a pass by freshman Cannon Barbary. BHP was quick to retaliate but that was as close as BHP ever came.
With the game tied, freshman Trevor Pike retrieved a clearing attempt near the penalty spot and struck the upper ninety past a helpless BHP keeper. The Patriots never looked back.
Next, Junior Ivan Garza collected another clearing attempt and cracked a 40 yard shot that found the netting. Garza would go on to score 2 more to complete his hat trick on passes from Carson Brannon and Trevor Pike.
Sophomore Julien Freeman added an unassisted goal along with two others to finish with a hat trick of his own. He scored his second after receiving a beautiful cross from Garza and completed the hat trick on a pass from Barbary.
Barbary added a goal to his point total for the night with a 30 yard drive on yet another BHP clearing attempt.
Wesley Bigbee showed some offensive prowess by scoring his first of the year on a pass from Freeman. The final score was 10-3.
The Patriots will be in action on Thursday versus regional rival Pendleton. JV starts at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.
