The Powdersville Patriots JV football team capped off an undefeated season (7-0) with a 13-6 victory over cross town rival Wren last night. The Patriot defense shut down the hurricane offense with the only score for the Hurricanes coming on an interception returned for a touchdown. Nate Spearman and Jaxon Key both had key interceptions for the Patriots. Owen Lewis carried the workload with some big runs for Powdersville. Bigtime play from Keenan Zahm stepping in at center and was a crucial part of the win for Powdersville. The Patriots struck first as Chris Cruell carried it in for 6 in the 2nd quarter. After the Hurricanes scored and failed on a 2 point attempt in the 3rd the score was 7-6. Lance Whittam scored a rushing touchdown late in the 3rd to extend the lead to 13-6 and ultimately win the game. This is a special group of young men and the future for Powdersville Football is bright.
