Powdersville Varsity Girls Basketball fell to Wren 51-41 at home in a non-region game on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Alex Lavore scored 20 of the Lady Hurricane’s 25 points of the first half as Wren built up a 25-17 lead by the break. Lady Hurricanes extended their lead in the third period, then Lady Patriots reduced the gap in the fourth quarter for the 51-41 final.

Mikaela McDaniel led the Lady Patriots with 24 points, including 10 of 14 from the charity stripe. Two Powdersville players left the game with injuries. Powdersville, 2-2 overall, travels to Easley on Thursday, December 7, for another non-region game at 6:00 pm. Lady Patriots won comfortably when the two teams played last week. Congratulations to Powdersville Varsity Boys Basketball on their 68-43 non-region victory at Crescent on Friday, December 1, 2017. Patriots jumped out to a 10-point lead by the end of the first quarter and led 32-23 at the half. Powdersville finished strong with 23 points in the final period for the 68-43 win.

Draylen Burton led the Patriots with 23 points, and Qushawn Brown added 20. Kavion Morris also hit double digits with 12 points. Powdersville, 2-1 overall, hosts Wren on Tuesday, December 5, for another non-region game at 7:30 pm. Patriots won at Wren when these two teams played last week. Congratulations to Powdersville Varsity Girls Basketball on their 46-26 victory at Crescent in a non-region game on Friday, December 1, 2017. Lady Patriots took the lead in the first quarter and built up to 31-15 advantage by halftime. Powdersville extended their margin to 42-17 by the end of the third quarter and held on for the 46-26 victory.

Bball_Girls_Var_20171201BAfter the game, Crescent’s coach invited the Lady Patriots to join the Lady Tigers at center court for a prayer for the family of Isabella and Jeanette Campbell. The Campbells’ grandfather, who died earlier in the week, had been a teacher, coach, and administrator in Crescent’s school district.

Jeanette Campbell led the Lady Patriots with 14 points with Mikaela McDaniel added 12. Powdersville, 2-1 overall, hosts Wren on Tuesday, December 5, for another non-region game at 6:00 pm. Lady Patriots will be seeking to avenge their loss when the two teams played last week. #OneTeamOneDream #GoPatriots!

Powdersville Varsity Boys Basketball came up short against Easley 59-50 after a furious fourth quarter in a non-region game at home Thursday, November 30, 2017. Easley worked up a 29-20 lead by halftime and extended their margin to 16 points by the end of the third quarter. In the final period, Draylen Burton and Qushawn Brown found their sweet spots, delivering 2’s and 3’s. Patriots scored 23 points in the final period, but there was too much of a spread to overcome. Easley held out for the 59-50 win.

Powdersville Varsity Girls Basketball defeated Easley 58-27 in a non-region game at home Thursday, November 30, 2017. Lady Patriots jumped out to a 14-point lead before Easley scored. Powdersville led 14-2 at the end of the first quarter, and extended the margin to 27-8 by the end of the half. Easley came back determined after the break, but the Lady Patriots maintained control and coasted to the 58-27 victory.

Boys Junior Varsity Basketball, Boys Varsity Basketball · Powdersville Boys Basketball Start Season with 73-29 Victory over Wren!


Patriots’ Varsity Boys Basketball got off to a great start with a win over cross-town rivalry Wren Hurricanes beating them 73-69 on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  Coach Garner reports that it was close throughout the entire game.  Contributing to the win were several players starting with Braylen Boggains hitting the boards with 12 rebounds and contributing 9 points.  Kavon Morris added a double-double with 12 rebounds and 12 points.  Carrying the offense and putting up big points were Draylan Burton with 17 points and Qushawn Brown with 28 points.

The Patriots take the court again Thursday, November 30, at home against the Easley Green Wave starting at 7:30 p.m.

FB_IMG_1512009948167Powdersville Varsity Wrestling team hosted Travelers Rest, Mauldin, and Landrum on Wednesday night, and opened the season with a 2-1 record. The Patriots lost a hard fought match with AAAAA Mauldin 35-27, but was victorious over Travelers Rest 42-28 and Landrum 56-24.

Congratulations to the following wrestlers for going undefeated on the night:
Carson Syvock, Carson Jackson, Allen Hill, Dylan Bailey, and Connor Graham.
