Congratulations to Powdersville Varsity Boys Soccer on their Round #1 Playoff victory! Patriots defeated Chester 6-1 at home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Powdersville will travel to Seneca for Round #2 on Thursday.
John Mohrmann put the Patriots on the board 15 minutes into the game when he delivered an assist from Zachary Hurst 15 yards to the opposite corner of the net. Hurst took an assist from Caden Beck eight minutes later and drilled it six yards into the net from the side. Two minutes after that, Chester cut the margin to 2-1. In the final seconds of the half, Mohrmann met an assist from Carter Pike in the air and slammed it into the goal to put the Patriots up 3-1 at the break.
In the second half, Chester committed violations on two separate occasions, and Hurst fired the resulting penalty kick to the back of the net both times. A third Chester violation put Collin Beck on the 18 for a free kick in the final two minutes. Boom! Beck blasted the ball thru multiple pairs of feet to the back corner of the net for the 6-1 victory.
