Another Close One! Powdersville Varsity Boys Basketball fell 59-57 at Liberty on Monday, February 5, 2019, in the final game of regular season. Patriots led 18-13 at the end of the first quarter, and Liberty rallied to take the lead 31-30 a few seconds before the half. Red Devils built up a four-point lead, 46-42, by the end of the third quarter. Powdersville rallied and was leading 57-56 in the final seconds when Liberty sank a three-point buzzer-beater for the two-point win. What a heart-breaker!
Junior Draylan Burton led the Patriots with 18 points while junior David Cordle added 17. Powdersville (11-12 overall, 6-4 in the region) earned a third-place berth in state playoffs.
