Congratulations to Powdersville JV Girls Basketball on their 29-6 victory over Liberty at home on Monday, February 4, 2019. Lady Patriots led the Lady Red Devils 15-6 at the half and 23-6 at the end of the third quarter. Powdersville defense continued to hold Liberty scoreless through the final period for the comfortable win. Biggest cheers from the fans came in the final minute when Sophomore Lydia Burrows, who has been sidelined with a knee injury for the last few weeks, checked in and received a long pass under the basket for an uncontested layup. With Burrow’s basket, the entire team marked the scoring column for the win. Great way to finish the season!!

Sophomore Jenny Becera led the Lady Patriots with seven points. Powdersville JV wrapped up their season with records of 10-5 overall and 6-2 in the region.

“Hard Work. Dedication. Resilience. A joyful spirit. These girls were the perfect blend, and it was an honor to serve as their coach,” commented JV Girls Coach Jonathan Scrivner. “I couldn’t be more proud of their results this season!”

Best wishes, Ladies, as you move on to spring sports and other activities. Looking forward to seeing you back on the Patriot court next year! #MakingHistoryEverySeason!! #GoPatriots!!
