Tied for Second in Region! Congratulations to Powdersville Varsity Girls Basketball on their 55-36 victory at Liberty on Tuesday, February 15, 2019. With the win, Powdersville finished the regular season tied for second with Pendleton.

Lady Patriots came out strong against the Lady Red Devils, leading 29-10 at the half and 46-21 at the end of the third quarter. In the final period, Liberty narrowed the gap with a trio of three-point baskets, but Lady Patriots stayed calm, hitting five-for-six free throws and finishing the night with a 19-point win.

Freshman Kara Harrison led the Lady Patriots with 17 points while junior Kyra Floyd and senior Mikaela McDaniel both added 10. Powdersville (15-7 overall, 7-3 in the region) returns to Liberty on Thursday, February 7, at 6pm for a tie-breaker against Pendleton. Earlier in the season, Powdersville won at Pendleton by four points, and Pendleton won at Powdersville by four points in overtime. Both teams will advance to playoffs with the winner hosting the third-place team from Region IV the following Monday and the other traveling to face Region IV’s second-place team.
