Undefeated Region Champions! Congratulations to Powdersville Varsity Girls Soccer on their 4-0 victory at Pendleton on Thursday, April 11, 2019. With the win, Lady Patriots finished region play with an unblemished 13-0 record including 10 shut-outs. Wow! Way to go, Ladies!

Less than 14 minutes into the game, senior Bry Thobe settled a bouncing ball and shot 20 yards to the back of the net to put the Lady Patriots on the board first. Ten minutes later, freshman Mayci Irby sailed a high ball from 25 yards out that slid underneath the crossbar and wiped the netting on its way down. Lady Patriots maintained their 2-0 lead through the end of the first period.

Five minutes into the second half, sophomore Madelyn Thobe outmaneuvered the nearest defender and blasted the net from 12 yards. Four minutes after that goal, freshman Katherine Ream flicked a corner kick from Irby through a crowd into the net and put the Lady Patriots ahead 4-0. Powdersville maintained the advantage to the final whistle.

Senior keeper Jeanette Campbell directed the Lady Patriot defense to their tenth shut-out of the season. In 13 games, Lady Patriots have only allowed five goals. Way to play tough defense, Ladies!

Powdersville (13-0 overall, 8-0 in the region) hosts Wren on Wednesday, April 24, for the Lady Patriots’ final regular season game. Game time is 5:30 pm with the boys following in a double-header and recognition of seniors between games. Will Lady Patriots finish their season undefeated? Will Wren hold Powdersville like they did at the scrimmage in February? All the makings of another great Powdersville-Wren backyard battle! Come out and support Patriot Soccer and help us celebrate our seniors! #MakingHistoryEverySeason! #Go Patriots!!
