Powdersville Varsity Baseball fell 5-2 in their region opener at Crescent on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Both teams played well in a game closer than the final tally indicated. With the score tied 1-1 at the bottom of the fourth, Crescent had a big, four-run inning to take a 5-1 lead. Patriots added a run at the top of the sixth and got two on base in the seventh before the 5-2 final.
Junior Brandon Rowlands and sophomore Camden Troyer both batted two-for-four. Senior Douglas Richardson added a fifth hit for the Patriots. Senior Bobby Olsen pitched all six innings, holding the Tigers to five hits as well.
Powdersville (3-3) makes a short road trip to Berea on Thursday, March 14, at 6:30 pm, for a non-region game, and is scheduled to play the second game of the Crescent series at home on Friday. That schedule may change depending on weather. Looking forward to more flash from Patriot diamonds in days ahead! #MakingHistoryEverySeason! #GoPatriots!
